There are many opportunities for international students to work in massage on the Gold Coast. Relaxing and remedial massage are very popular these days, with a couple of clinics in every major shopping centre.
Many of our students are ready to work after about 12 weeks of study and they can arrange professional indemnity insurance for their part time job and future career. We’ve seen great demand for our Diploma of Remedial Massage graduates both locally and internationally because of our students’ skills and knowledge.
It’s a very interesting course that takes a bit longer than a year. The fee is approximately $550 a month, depending on your start date. There’s one Key Day every week and then a clinic day after about 12 weeks of study where you perform massages on clients. You can get help 6 days a week at no extra cost, because our clinic supervisor is also a teacher.
It’s a quality course and a real career opportunity. By the end of the course our aim is for our students to be able to work with a physiotherapist, in an outpatient’s department or a retirement home. Some of the therapists we have trained have even been sponsored by their workplace to stay in Australia.
