The English program at Academique is SMART: it’s focused on success, and it’s also inexpensive.

We only have great teachers. Two are also teaching in our vocational programs, one was  an ‘enterprise-based’ trainer and two are bilingual. They know how English works, and how to make lessons interesting, effective and enjoyable. They have a plan to help you get to where you want to be.

The faculty has its own coordinator who tracks the progress of the students, and organises support for anyone who is falling behind.

Our student services staff are very supportive too: everyone speaks at least two languages, and all have studied overseas, so they know exactly how you feel. One of the college directors runs the service.

We know how hard it is to find and keep a good job, so we designed a system to help you balance that part of your life. The visa conditions are to study at least 20 hours a week, so the coordinator monitors that. However, we run suitable learning activities 48 hours a week, and you can choose when to attend as long as you cover the core curriculum. Guided Individual Learning (GIL) opens at 8 and closes at 5 Monday to Saturday: a very convenient way to pick up any missed hours. Just sign in and sign out, and the hours will be recorded.  We pride ourselves on having the most flexible attendance system that allows students to balance their study, work, and social lives!

I taught English as a second language for 14 years, have a master’s degree in the area and studied another language as an adult. I personally supervise the English school at Academique to make sure it’s helping students toward their dreams.

Academique English is inexpensive because we don’t waste money on international recruiting trips or expensive marketing companies. We only recruit in Australia through quality agents, and we pass the savings on to our students. Many schools are only expensive because they spend a lot on marketing.

In 2018 we moved into a great building near the tram and Chinatown in Southport. We set the classrooms up in the most effective way.

Looking through the college photo album I can see students learning English then going on to success in their business, remedial massage or university studies. It’s a great pleasure to have helped these students achieve their goals.
