Course Description:

The Certificate IV in Business allows students to enter or advance in the exciting world of modern business. The skills gained will allow students access to a wide range of employment opportunities and further educational options.

Students study in BUSINESS CLASS at no extra expense: comfortable chairs, boardroom and free WiFi. Our business course is unique: it is taught by active business owners who support each individual student to create the specific, detailed strategies they need to be successful in their business activities.
The Certificate IV in Business has been designed for those with minimal experience in a range of settings who are seeking to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions.

This qualification is also suited to those with little experience but sound theoretical business skills and knowledge and who would like to further develop these skills in order to create further educational and employment opportunities.

Key Days:

  • Thursday Morning 2 Hour Foundations Lecture (9am-11am) + 1 Hour Tutorial (11am-12pm).
  • Thursday Afternoon 1 Hour Focused Learning Lecture (1pm-2pm) + 2 Hour Tutorial (2pm-4pm).
  • Tutor available Saturday for all Enterprise students

The course is delivered over 28 study weeks.

We offer intakes every week except holiday and research break weeks.

Students study 2 – 4 units across an eight weeks term then have a 2 week “Research Break”

There is an 8 weeks Summer Holiday from November.

The Certificate IV Business is assessed through written & oral assessments, case studies, industry placement, workbooks, presentations and assignments.

Upon successful completion of this qualification students will be eligible for a BSB40120 Certificate in Business.

International student entry requirements for this course:

It’s a requirement for enrolment and for the grant of a student visa that students establish their English language proficiency. How you can do this depends on your passport and Education Sector, which determine your Assessment Level. Some levels can use the ACADEMIQUE test (80% or above, only available at ACADEMIQUE) to establish their competence. Other levels need IELTS 5.5 or equal (or higher) or certified proof of successful Foundation, Certificate IV or higher studies. For details, please contact the college or see:

BSBOPS404 – Implement customer service strategies
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to advise, carry out and evaluate customer service strategies.

BSBMKG433 – Undertake marketing activities
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare, coordinate and review basic marketing activities.

BSBTWK401 – Build and maintain business relationships.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to establish, develop and maintain effective work relationships and networks through relationship building and negotiation skills required by workers.

BSBCMM411 – Make presentations
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to prepare, deliver and review presentations for target audiences.

BSBWHS411 – Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor an organisation’s work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area in order to meet legislative requirements.

BSBPEF502 – Develop and use emotional intelligence
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop and use emotional intelligence to increase self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management in the workplace.

BSBPEF402 – Develop personal work priorities
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan and prioritise own work tasks. It also addresses the skills and knowledge to monitor and obtain feedback on personal work performance.

BSBCRT411 – Apply critical thinking to work practices
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to use advanced-level critical thinking skills in a workplace context. This includes using methods of analysis, synthesis and evaluation.

BSBWRT411 – Write complex documents
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan, draft and finalise complex documents.

BSBTEC404 – Use digital technologies to collaborate in a work environment
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to understand the fundamentals of using digital technologies to collaborate in a workplace context, including working as part of a remote team.

BSBXCM401 – Apply communication strategies in the workplace
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to facilitate and apply communication strategies in the workplace within any industry.
